Sitia and d’Doubles explore the boundaries of “The Human Contract”, an initiative launched through a design competition open to Singapore-based designers, aimed at redefining the way contract spaces are experienced. The project fosters a harmonious dialogue between work environments—with their technical and functional requirements—and the relaxed, intimate atmosphere typical of residential spaces.
The winner of the Sitia Singapore Design Competition 2019 is designer Abigail Chang, with her project Una: a multifunctional, transformable space divider featuring a sleek, minimalist design. Composed of large acoustic panels, Una enhances sound comfort while offering a flexible solution that embodies both openness and privacy. It can be converted into a table, providing visual and acoustic privacy in both configurations, while still encouraging collaboration and connection.
Abigail Chang was selected by Sitia with the support of two esteemed judges:
Mr. Ong Tze Boon, Executive Chairman of architectural powerhouse ONG&ONG Group, with 12 offices across Asia; and Mr. Mike Lim, Design Director at DP Design, part of DP Architects, one of the largest architecture groups in the world.
